Zusammenfassung:Abstract Necrotizing soft tissue infections (NSTIs) are associated with high morbidity and mortality. We retrospectively examined the impact of empiric antimicrobials coupled with early surgery on mortality in NSTI. Early surgery independently reduced 30-day mortality (odds ratio, .16; 95% confidence interval, .05–.51; P < .001) that was not further augmented by empiric antimicrobial choice.
