Zusammenfassung: | Sorry, there is no abstract. Read the first few lines of the text instead! Unipolar major depression and its subtypes are very common in patients with neurological disorders. A recent literature review found rates of unipolar depression in patients with neurological disorders ranged from 5 to 75%, depending on neurological disorder and depressive subtype [1]. The highest rates of depression have been reported for epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and stroke, mean of 55 and 40%, respectively. However, most important, comorbid unipolar depressive disorders have been noted to affect adversely survival, length of hospital stays, compliance with treatment, ability to care for oneself, and the quality of life of neurological patients. |
