Zusammenfassung:	Primary vaginal carcinoma is a rare clinical entity but a new awareness of it has been generated by its association in young women whose mothers have taken diethylstilbestrol during their pregnancies. A series of recently treated cases of benign and malignant neoplasia (clear cell carcinoma) is presented and a review of the literature and a discussion of the theorized pathogenesis are undertaken.
