Zusammenfassung:	Teratomas are unusual neoplasms that occur in many areas of the body but most frequently in the ovaries and the testes. This article reports an unusual case of benign ovarian teratoma with well-developed dental structures and also reviews the theories of embryogenesis of teratomas, with emphasis on those teratomas which contain teeth.
