Zusammenfassung: | Two cases of subfoveal choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM) in the absence of other pathology are described in two young patients who were successfully treated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-) agents. The natural history of idiopathic CNVM and factors influencing the decision to treat using various options are discussed. Current experience with use of anti-VEGF is also outlined. Lastly, the importance of timely referral for thorough investigations to exclude underlying aetiology and consideration for treatment is highlighted. |
