Zusammenfassung:One of the highlights of each year's ASIS&T Annual Meeting is the presentation of the prestigious ASIS&T Annual Awards. Several executives are briefly profiled. Gary Marchionini, dean and Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor at the School of information and Library Science (SIL) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is the 2011 recipient of the Award of Merit, the highest honor presented by ASIS&T. Marchionini is an internationally renowned scholar who has contributed a lifetime of extraordinary accomplishments to the field of information science. ASIS&T's Watson Davis Award recognizes the contributions of someone who has shown continuous dedicated service to ASIS&T. It is hard to think of one more worthy of it than Bob Williams. Apart from his uninterrupted membership of more than 20 years and his regular participation in the Annual Meetings of the Society, he has served on a range of the Society's committees and juries.
