Zusammenfassung:When using a multi-turn coil, a quench ring surrounding the coil applies the quenchant through the space between the coil's turns (Fig. 7). Because of its proximity to the work coil, quench heads of this type may experience heating. Quench heads should be made of plastic, ceramic or low-resistivity materials such as brass. Where a metal quench ring surrounds the coil, heating can be additionally reduced by placing a split in the ring to prevent the ring from being a closed loop.
