Asia's relative share of global assets continues its inexorable rise as the trade surpluses, commodity windfalls, and free money from western printing presses finds its way into the high growth markets in the East. As that money flows in, the demand for senior people to help service those assets has risen too. What was a fairly closed market for people in the mid-2000s is now experiencing rapid growth. Senior bankers report that the availability of talent has not kept pace with the growth of underlying business in the securities services market.
