Zusammenfassung: | As one can imagine, areas such as transport, utilities and other commoditized purchases can only be stretched so far. At this 'critical mass' point, procurers can find their roles move from adding value to simply keeping things running efficiently. As a result, while organizations are still looking towards procurement people for savings, they can be difficult to find. However, opportunities do still exist for procurement to both cut costs and add value. Print buying, a notoriously complex area, is one of the prime targets as it has been left relatively unexplored. In the continued drive to slim down overheads, now is the time to look again at print. Going forward, the onus is firmly on procurement to develop a much deeper understanding of how all print materials are commissioned, produced and used by their organization. By doing so, they can work to create a generally leaner; less wasteful and more effective operation. |
