Zusammenfassung: | The author shared his thoughts about the Future of Affordable Housing and Community Development Forum. Most importantly, both the organization and the housing business have weathered a difficult storm, and he thinks that they have emerged amazingly strong. They've learned and applied new programs, found new investors while refocusing the old ones, and developed clever products that have been key to getting housing and commercial real estate development on the road to recovery. Their ability to learn, devise new structures, and keep closing deals deserves repeating. Tax credits for housing, historic buildings, new markets projects, and at least six kinds of renewables all struggle for the attention of investors, many of whom are the same. The Forum continues to be at the forefront. The range and quality of their educational programs, the depth and knowledge of their Listserv and committees, and the creativity of their several thousand members cannot be underestimated. |
