Zusammenfassung: | In early 2009, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) began work on a project to develop the first official estimates of gross domestic product (GDP) for American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Guam, and the US Virgin Islands. The purpose of this ongoing project is to provide data users with a comprehensive, objective measure of economic growth for these four US territories. From 2002 to 2007, real gross domestic product of American Samoa increased at an average annual rate of 0.4%. From 2002 to 2007, real GDP of CNMI decreased at an average annual rate of 4.2%. From 2002 to 2007, the real GDP of Guam grew at an average annual rate of 1.8%. From 2002 to 2007, real GDP of the US Virgin Islands grew at an average annual rate of 2.9%. Real GDP decreased in 2003 but increased in each year from 2004 to 2007. |
