Zusammenfassung: | Three months of field trials were carried out on New Delhi - Guwahati express services in late 2009 to evaluate system functionality and ensure that electrical connections could survive the rigours of rail operations. The 3 758 km return trip takes 54 h, with a maximum speed of 140 km/h and a longest non-stop run of 440 km. The minimum ambient temperature recorded was 12-rC, the highest 33-40C and the maximum bearing temperature measured was 74 degree C (Fig 1). |
