In 2023, the Natural Resources Conservation Service will provide $10 million through the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program and another $6 million from the Environmental Quality Incentives Program toward an effort to promote locally led, voluntary land and wildlife conservation, the leaders said. The working group that recommended the order included representatives from agriculture, oil and gas, mining, conservation, recreation and sportsmen’s groups, according to Gordon’s office. A team of researchers from the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service and Oregon State University have been working with a project to see how virtual fencing might be beneficial on federal allotments.
