Zusammenfassung: | In the historic Square Mile of London between Fleet Street and Tudor Street there is a 6,200m2 hole in the ground reaching up to 18m deep. This is where the City of London's new £596M "justice quarter" known as the Salisbury Square development will soon be arising. Where there was once a collection of 20th century commercial buildings that housed the core of London's press and banking sectors, there will now be three modern buildings: a purpose-built 18-courtroom legal facility called the City of London Law Courts, the City of London police headquarters and a building for commercial purposes that will be sold for private use. In between will be welcoming public spaces and a more accessible environment for pedestrians and cyclists. Its new east-west links through the site will make it a "truly permeable place" according to the City of London. |
