Zusammenfassung: | [...]research has demonstrated the positive relationship between play and children's language development, math skills, and social and emotional growth. Teaching Practices That Support Play Teachers can support children's play and maximize its power to promote learning and development in three key ways: through their preparation for children's play; through the way they interact with children during play; and through reflective practices that occur after children's play. Teachers can use these practices to set learning goals; plan learning environments; offer specific guidance; and reinforce children's reflections upon and integration of new knowledge and skills to extend interest, engagement, and learning. With careful planning, purposeful preparation, and a deep understanding of how children learn through active engagement with each other and their worlds, teachers can better harness the power of play to support children's growth. |
