Zusammenfassung:Military healthcare is facing challenges due to its complexity and high cost. The DOD (DoD) spends a significant portion of its budget on healthcare, and the level of national spending on healthcare is unprecedented. The transition of military healthcare administration to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) aims to improve its economics and competitiveness. However, the current system is not highly competitive compared to the private sector. To enhance value in military healthcare, several strategies can be implemented, including integrating Planning Programing Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) into healthcare delivery, managing by processes and outcomes rather than inputs, adopting integrated financial operations, focusing on healthcare cost management, and enabling functions that create value. The ultimate goal is to generate value by achieving the quadruple aim goals of better care, better health, lower cost, and readiness. By implementing these strategies, military healthcare can improve its productivity and provide better value for its stakeholders.
