Whilst recyclable packaging, recycled content and plastic-free formats have taken centre stage in brands' sustainability strategies, refillable and reusable packaging has lingered on the periphery. However, there is evidence that the balance is starting to shift, and that reuse and refill is moving into the mainstream. Labeling scheme OPRL has noted a "slow but steady" increase in downloads of its refill labels. ThePackHub manages an innovation platform called the Innovation Zone, which tracks the latest packaging innovations from around the world.
