Two picture book honor books were named: The 2023 Audie Award winners are A Door Made for Me (Hachette Audio) by Tyler Merritt, read by the author, in the young listeners category; Stuntboy, in the Meantime (Simon & Schuster Audio) by Jason Reynolds, read by Guy Lockard, Nile Bullock, and Angel Pean with a full cast, in the middle grade category; and Demon in the Wood: A Shadow and Bone Graphic Novel (Macmillan Audio) by Leigh Bardugo, read by Ben Barnes and a full cast, in the young adult category. The winner in the Espanol-Spanish language category is [Primera caida!: El enmascarado de terciopelo (Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial Mexico) by Diego Mejia Eguiluz, read by Noe Velazquez.
