Zusammenfassung:Offshore wind projects are gaining traction as a source of renewable energy in the US. But in their wake, the safety of endangered marine mammals, such as North Atlantic right whales, is also becoming a focal point. Fortunately, we can strike a fine balance between these objectives with the aid of technology. Machine learning is providing an extra set of eyes to detect whales. In doing so, the technology is supporting responsible development of offshore wind projects.
