Zusammenfassung:PLI Institute FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington argued during a Dec. 15 speech that the FCC has the authority to address security vulnerabilities on devices that are subject to its equipment authorization regulations, and he urged industry to work with the FCC to develop rules that will protect the public without imposing too great a burden on industry. Speaking at the Institute on Telecommunications Policy & Regulation, held by the Practising Law Institute in cooperation with the Federal Communications Bar Association, Commissioner Simington expanded on his previous calls for FCC action on cybersecurity risks to communications networks and services. Carr: 5G Baseline Should Be 'Exclusive Use' In remarks during a one-on-one session at the PLI event, Commissioner Carr emphasized the importance of wireless carriers getting exclusively licensed spectrum "at 5G power levels." Starks Cites Increases in ACP Households FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks noted that the number of households enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) has increased by 285,000 since the announcement of the "Your Home, Your Internet" Pilot Program, which is designed to increase enrollment among federal housing assistance recipients.
