Climate Resiliency: A Local Perspective

Three panelists provide an overview of their roles as municipal sustainability and resiliency leaders. They discuss what some of the key challenges and opportunities are for cities as they seek to create climate resilient communities and explore to what extent proactive adaptation planning can prepare localities for climate change. They also consider what investors should keep in mind when they assess a municipal issuer's climate preparedness efforts. This article is based on a panel by the same title presented at the 2021 Annual Conference of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts held virtually on May 12 and 13, 2021.
