Current status survey of outdoor behavior monitoring services for seniors and proposal of new services

The market share of behavior monitoring services in the whole nursing care service is 0.2% or less and the utilization rate of existing services is less than 10% which are very small. The situation is caused because the existing services require manpower of care workers. However, the jobs are low in social status and are always insufficient due to low wages, heavy work, and the need to sometimes physically restrain seniors. Attention should be paid to the right of seniors and the situation of care work. To solve these problems, based on the combination of technical elements, we propose the development of new types of robot such as pet robots, interior capsule robots, and accompaniment robots.
