Zusammenfassung:Piano students, in addition to developing dexterity and learning keyboard patterns, are also developing tone production, employing various speeds of attack, distance of the finger from the key, weight and articulation to color the quality of their sound. [...]the organ is simply terrifying! At the organ, with no decay in sound, the release of the note can stick out like a sore thumb. [...]one must consciously and actively release the sound with the same intention with which one plays the note. Legato, already an illusion for the hammers of the piano, is even more elusive at the organ, relying on careful overlapping sound and fingers. [...]finger substitutions on the same note, an occasional trick of pianists, are a way of life for an organist.
