Zusammenfassung: | A Workshop to discuss research priorities and collaborative opportunities for nearshore macroalgae research in coastal British Columbia was held at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans’ Pacific Science Enterprise Centre on February 27, 2018. Twenty regional experts in phycology, algal habitat mapping, kelp restoration and fish habitat managers attended. Eleven presentations were given, providing the group with an overview of aspects of phycological science in British Columbia and Puget Sound. This report presents conclusions of group discussions on key questions on the status of knowledge on macroalgae ecology, kelp bed mapping, kelp restoration and opportunities for future collaborative research at the Pacific Science Enterprise Centre. Also presented are the extended abstracts of the talks, additional information and references. |
