Zusammenfassung:Once all of the basic causes of discomfort have been investigated and resolved, perform a more detailed analysis of contact-lens-induced dry eye. Check the type of lenses the patient is wearing - high water content lenses, especially those with more free-water molecules (methacrylic acid-based polymers), lose more water from evaporation and can exacerbate symptoms of dryness. Also, ionic materials tend to be more irritating.
