Zusammenfassung: | The ethical issues surrounding contemporary childhood are explored in a series of 24 photogravures by the New York-based designer/illustrator Victor Koen, entitled 'Tasks and Games: Portraits of the Never Young'. They show "the futuristic fantastic effects of current developments on children who are ostensibly engaged in traditional forms of work and play" Born in Greece, Koen studied at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem (BFA, Graphic Design, 1990) and the School of Visual Arts in New York (MFA, Illustration, 1992). Since 1995 he has taught in the Faculty of Illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York. |
