An icy reception

"Oh. Okay." It didn't seem like the most cost-effective use of physician time to me, but I didn't figure it was worth getting bent out of shape over. I checked the list. "Mr. Jones?" No one responded. "Mr. Jones?" Nothing. A no show, I guess. I reached for the next chart. "Ms., er, Wasyliniuski?" No response. "Sorry if I'm not pronouncing this name correctly. Ms. Wasyliniuski?" A woman stood up. Great, here we go...
