Zusammenfassung:MerriamWebster (2017) defines agriculture as: "the science, art, or practice of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products." In order to understand the differences between agriculture teachers and student knowledge in agriculture an examination of the terms "literate" and "literacy" is appropriate in relation to agriscience education. Workplace literacy becomes disciplinary literacy applied to the disciplines studied in school, and the ability to use reading and writing to learn in a discipline.
