Zusammenfassung: | Markantes re-explores the story of the long-lost Custer Cyclorama. Cycloramas were the 19th century version of virtual reality and the first mass medium. These roughly cylindrical paintings, usually 50 by 400 ft in size, had to be painted and exhibited in special buildings. Custer's last fight that would soon replace the famous cyclorama of the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the wonders of the Victorian age. |
