We are presently going through difficult times with respect to the securities markets, corporate governance, and the accounting and legal professions. Several weeks ago, a giant in the legal profession passed away. On January 14, 2002, A.A. Sommer, Jr., a retired partner at the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Backius, succumbed to a long and debilitating illness.
