Named Stille, the collection is comprised of five different archetypes-bedside tables, side tables, coffee tables, media consoles, and a range of multipurpose shelving units-and is designed to provide a framework for showcasing one's objects, while adding contemporary sophistication to any space with its clean architectural lines, and a range of elegant matte finishes. Standard Issue first became acquainted with Abstracta while researching systems for creating space frames a few years back when they were designing an exhibition for Herman Miller focused on the work of Alexander Girard. To figure out how many options to offer the consumer, they studied furniture archetypes and even looked at their own everyday lives, asking themselves, "Where do we use shelves or small tables in our own houses?" The designers eventually arrived at 20 solutions, concluding that those were the forms that they-and other people-needed.
