Zusammenfassung: | The National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently proposed improved CAFE standards for light- to medium-duty trucks and big SUVs as part of the federal Energy Bill. As of the 2007 model year, the 8,500- to 10,000-pound GVW trucks and SUVs will have to meet a 22.2-mpg level. Passenger car CAFE standards will continue at 27.5 mpg, and light-truck CAFE numbers will increase gradually to 21.6 mpg by the 2006 model year. |
