He succeeds Mark Fraser, who has been promoted to vice president, publishing director, China for HTT's parent company, Reed Business Information. Carena joined HTT in February 1997 as associate publisher. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1991 he was marketing manager for home textiles at what was then called HFD; he was promoted to associate publisher there in January 1992.
