Zusammenfassung: | VERDICT This poetic view on the opioid epidemic is an excellent choice for reluctant readers looking for a shorter book on a timely topic.-Jeri Murphy, C.F. Simmons Middle School, Aurora, IL FARLEY, C. J. Around Harvard Square. 280p. While written in a language appropriate for upper elementary students, the subject matter (including a torture scene) is more appropriate for middle and high school students, almost putting this in the hi-lo category. VERDICT Because the language is so curtailed, this text is not likely to win any awards for its prose, but does have its use in a Language Arts classroom, especially with new Canadians.-Sara Kundrik, Gilbert Paterson Middle School, Alta. Gr 9 Up-Recent high school graduate and Oar's Rest local Barbara "Babe" Vogel's dating rule of "no summer boys" is tested with the arrival of Levi Keller, an attractive artist renting her mother's house for the season. |
