Zusammenfassung:The effectiveness of emulsified edible oil substrate (EOS) to clean up chlorinated solvents and perchlorate in groundwater has been demonstrated by Solutions Industrial Environmental Services in conjunction with the Department of Defense. EOS, a micro-emulsion of soybean oil, surfactants, macro and micronutrients, and vitamins formulated to accelerate anaerobic biodegradation of groundwater contaminants, provides a cost-effective approach for stimulating in situ anaerobic biological activity and is readily distributed in the subsurface to provide a long-lasting treatment source.
