Zusammenfassung: | Because Ferguson views its associates as driving its success, recruiting the right people is a major focus of its efforts. However, the company not only invests in its recruits, but encourages development through training and sharing of opportunities for all of its associates. David Peebles, former chairman and president of Ferguson, wanted to create something different in the industry by making it a career opportunity for individuals who typically would not enter this industry. The company recruits from about 26 college campuses directly via a corporate recruiting group. Another 35 to 40 colleges are approached for candidates by local branch managers who send literature and request resumes. Ferguson's training program starts recruits in the warehouse, moves them through to the counter sales area, and then to each area of operation before they are exposed to sales and leadership opportunities. |
