Zusammenfassung:OWL enables a domain of knowledge to be explicitly encoded with specific rules, meaning and relations to help scientists search and aggregate interrelated data in the R&D value chain. Figure 3 illustrates how the meaning of "cellular components" can be established by organizing biological terms into a simple ontology. OWL provides more intelligence about the data to software applications allowing them to perform more powerful operations on behalf of scientists.
