Zusammenfassung: | Plastic gears are used for a wide variety of applications in automobiles, computers, electronics, and medical equipment. Aliphatic polyketone (PK) resins, the latest in polymer developments, now offer a unique balance of mechanical, tribiological, acoustical, chemical, and injection-molding qualities. The new family of resins, called Carilon, resists chemicals such as automotive fluids, corrosive salts, and water. With absorption qualities similar to acetal, PK absorbs less moisture than nylon and with only minor dimensional changes. Additional qualities include high impact strength, short cycle times, and low shrinkage after removing parts from molds. |
