Today it is harder to frame decisions around traditional feature/function lists, as competitive pressures and vendor consolidation have blurred the lines of distinction between competitive offerings and capabilities. Requirements should be driven by business need, then mapped to functional capabilities. The caveat is that most products are positioned to achieve the same functional goals. The distinction is found in how the functionality is delivered. |
