In an interview, Sheeley Cudly, Business Analyst Consultant, TD Ameritrade Inc, talked about her role. She said that the most important contribution she makes is being a liaison between the business and the tech sides. The thing she produces is usually a requirements document, which may seem dull, but the act of getting to that is the big contribution she makes. The most important skill she needs to do her job is to listen and hear what people are saying -- and not just the words. She also said that what she likes best about her job is she gets to use a lot of different skill sets. If she was not a business analyst, she thinks she would become a trainer.
