Children's Healthcare in Atlanta is earning accolades for its intranet site. The site, Careforce Connection, maintains a managed care database that provides detailed information on the managed care plan the hospital participates in as well as information on which doctor is involved with which plan. Development on the in-house database program began in February 1999, and debuted 4 months later. With the database close at hand, Children's has reduced the number of managed care claims rejected because of inaccurate or incorrect information.
