Zusammenfassung:Beginning January 1, 2000, Ohio law will require accounting students in the state to complete 150 semester hours of higher education to sit for the CPA examination. The article presents predictions and recommendations that will help Ohio's practitioners and educators, during the periods immediately before and after 2000, to plan their staffing and resource needs and to advise students on earning bachelor's versus master's degrees before starting careers in public accounting. The predictions and recommendations are based in part on Florida's experience with a similar additional education requirement implemented in 1984.
