Do not neglect your gift

From our beginnings, Americans have been the world's pioneers in liberty: first from religious bigotry, then from despotism, then from privation. In the global classroom, the central lesson is that only conditions of human freedom make possible the material progress and individual dignity for which the world yearns. In school, students are given tools with which to prosper and earn their way in the world, but also the moral sense to earn their way to the next. They should not neglect their gifts.
