Hunter College Names Education Dean; Departing Provost at U. of Wisconsin Rethinks Consulting Gig; College Association Names New Chief

David M. Steiner has left his post as an associate professor in the School of Education at Boston University to become dean of the School of Education at Hunter College of the City University of New York. A president emeritus of Michigan State University, M. Peter McPherson, will be the next president of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges. Ensuring that students continue to have access to high-quality education despite decreasing public support for state colleges will be an overriding issue of his presidency, says Mr. McPherson.
