Zusammenfassung:As an overall (i.e., single-number) efficiency rating, we characterized filters according to their ASHRAE dust-spot-efficiency rating,6 the standard rating used by U.S. industry until recently. To denote ASHRAE dust-spot efficiency, we will use the notation "ASHRAE nn percent," with "nn" referring to die dust-spot-efficiency rating. In parenthesis, we provide the corresponding minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV), based on ASHRAE's new filter-testing standard.
