Because of this, all further reservations from now through the end of 2017 will be cancelled, Sonesta announced in a statement. According to the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), the following hotels were all expected to be open for business at press time: According to The Nation, Gaston Browne, the prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda, said, "Barbuda now is literally rubble." According to an ABC News report, he also said that parts of the island are "literally underwater" Dominica In a statement obtained by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), Dominica's Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said initial reports indicated "widespread devastation" in his country following the passage of Hurricane Maria. |
