Zusammenfassung:This paper discusses food safety and aquatic animal health in the context of climate change and is split into two sections: (1) the food safety for fishery and aquaculture products in the context of climate change; and (2) aquatic animal health hazards in aquaculture and fisheries and climate change. The first section looks at the impact on food safety through gradual changes in the marine environment, and the impact on food safety caused by extreme weather events. Emerging food pathogens in fishery and aquaculture products in the context of climate change are briefly outlined, and adaptation to climate change in the context of food safety for fishery and aquaculture products is discussed. Good practices, emergency preparedness and research needs are also discussed. The second section provides a brief description of infectious agents as biological hazards: parasites, bacteria, fungi, viruses. Climate change related factors that contribute to disease challenges are outlined, as are the climate change related factors that contribute to disease challenges. Information on the disease impacts on food security, livelihoods and the environment is then provided. Risk factors impacting aquatic animal health are presented in a table and ways of reducing and managing risks are discussed.
