Zusammenfassung: | One factor key to helping the telecom industry and the country both recover and sustain economic momentum is ubiquitous broadband deployment. It will spur business investment and lead to substantial improvements in telemedicine, distance, learning, e-government, telecommuting, e-commerce and entertainment, as well as public-safety and security. As part of its ongoing and multifaceted approach to promoting increased and widespread deployment of broadband communications technologies, the FCC should not apply its network unbundling rules to new facilities used for the provision of broadband and high-speed Internet access services. Removing FCC-mandated unbundling requirements on new, last-mile broadband infrastructure will accelerate and increase the geographic and socio-economic scope of broadband deployment. It will encourage operator investment in networks facilities while stimulating content development and increasing competition. |
