Zusammenfassung:Three compelling reasons for the owner of a dental practice to restructure the dental team to share the responsibilities of management include: 1. profit, 2. positioning for growth, and 3. team empowerment. A systems report meeting, held at least once a month, provides an opportunity to involve the dental team in various systems, including: 1. the financial system, 2. the scheduling system, 3. the recall system, 4. the inventory and ordering system, 5. the new patient-activity system, 6. the internal marketing system, 7. the continuing education system, and 8. the health and hazard communication system. During meetings, systems managers can ask for input from other team members. As staff members feel more and more important to the practice, they will go the extra mile and put the practice ahead of their personal agendas.
