Formerly a principal of Coates & Jarratt, John B. Mahaffie has been a consultant since 1987, authoring three dozen futures studies for corporations, government agencies and non- profit groups. He co-authored 2025: Scenarios of U.S. and Global Society Reshaped by Science and Technology with Joe Coates and Andy Hines, and more recently penned From Scan to Plan: Integrating Trends into the Strategy-Making Process in 2003. In an interview, Mahaffie discusses the implications of information technology developments on business between now and 2025 and how these developments will affect consumers and financial services.
